Al MesserschmidtThe Gators shot the lights out from the field, knocking down 52.8 percent of their attempts, including 57.1 percent from beyond the arc. Things could’ve been a lot worse for South Carolina as well as Florida shot just seven of 16 from the free throw line. The Gators also outrebounded the Gamecocks 37 to 23 on the evening.
Michael Carrera was the lone Gamecock to finish in double figures with 13 points. South Carolina had a terrible night from the field, hitting just 31.1 percent of their shots, including 14.3 percent from beyond the arc. The Gamecocks also turned the ball over 17 times.

USA TODAY SportsRutgers, now just 3-6 in the Big East, had already beaten Pittsburgh and pushed Notre Dame to its limit in South Bend.
In order to avoid falling victim to the upset bug, the Bearcats clamped down on defense in the second half, limiting Rutgers to just 24 points in the final 20 minutes. Defense and a decisive 32-21 advantage on the boards offset a difficult night offensively for Cincinnati. The Bearcats shot 37.5 percent and turned it over 17 times.

The Wildcats dropped to 12-10 and have now lost six Big Ten conference games. Michigan controlled the ball well all evening, turning the ball over just twice compared to Northwestern’s six turnovers.
