If there was ever a night where the Duke Blue Devils needed their stars to step up, this was it. Mason Plumlee scored 32 points and Seth Curry added 21 more as Duke outlasted Wake Forest, 75-70, on the road Wednesday night.

Plumlee dominated the game inside, getting his game-high in points on 12-of-15 shooting while also snatching nine rebounds. His play was made all the more impressive because he commanded the paint despite a thumb injury he suffered earlier in the conference season. The Blue Devils looked inside for most of the game as they connected on just two threes. Quinn Cook had 12 points and found his teammates for seven assists.
Meanwhile it was a balanced scoring effort that allowed Wake Forest to go toe-to-toe with the No. 5 team in the nation. Devin Thomas had 15 points, while C.J. Harris and Travis McKie each had 14.
The game was tied, 40-40, at halftime and the Demon Deacons had a late lead with less than four minutes to go, but a three from Curry with 3:10 left put Duke up for good. Wake Forest failed to answer, allowing the Blue Devils to escape with their second straight win after being blown out last week in Miami.
