No. 14 Miami vs. Virginia Tech final score: Hurricanes stay unbeaten in the ACC with 73-64 win

The Hurricanes are trying to prove they’re the class of the ACC, and Wednesday night’s win over Virginia Tech was just another line on their resume.

A three-point deficit on the road at halftime might rattle some teams, but the No. 14 Miami Hurricanes are undefeated in the ACC and rising quickly in the national rankings. They opened the second half on a 9-2 run and eventually wore down the Virginia Tech Hokies on their way to a 73-64 win Wednesday night.

25 points from Shane Larkin on 5-of-10 shooting from deep paced the Hurricanes, who have not lost since Christmas. They have won eight straight since, and benefited Wednesday from an additional 18 points courtesy of Kenny Kadji.

On the other side, Miami forced 17 Virginia Tech turnovers, and despite 30 points from Erick Green, only allowed the rest of the Hokies to score 34 points combined.

10-of-20 shooting from three-point range kept Virginia Tech in the game, but Miami always seemed to have an answer. With just over two minutes to go, the Hokies cut the deficit to four when Jarell Eddie made three consecutive free throws. But the Hurricanes came right back and Larkin drained a three seconds later to eliminate any Hokie momentum.
