The top receiver in the nation will play for Ole Miss, as Laquon Treadwell has signed with the Rebels Wednesday after having committed in January.
Saying Treadwell is a catch for Ole Miss is an understatement: Red Cup Rebellion wrote about how important Treadwell was to the Rebels and their improved recruiting efforts, and Wes Eberts of SB Nation compiled what parts of Treadwell’s skill set make him the top receiver in the country: to summarize, he’s a complete wide receiver, 6’3 with speed and loads of catching ability.

Even in such circumstances, 2013 Crete (Ill.) Monee wide receiver Laquon Treadwell stood out among his peers last July at the Nike facility in Beaverton, Oregon. He made plays, and there were noticeable.

Treadwell, who is widely considered one of the nation’s top high school wideouts, has reportedly narrowed his list of choices to Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.
Treadwell led his school, Crete-Monee, to the state football championship in November, catching 81 passes for 1077 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior. He has received five-star ratings from Rivals and Scout, with a four-star rating from ESPN.

If Treadwell does end up pledging to Ole Miss, a big reason for that could be his mother, who is a fan of what the Rebels have to offer.

One of the uncommitted prospects in the country, 2013 Crete (IL) Monee wide receiver Laquon Treadwell recently named a top five.
His top five, which he told Rivals is his “final five,” ($) is Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Michigan State, and Michigan. In another interview with 247Sports ($), Treadwell said that he is still considering Texas, Missouri, Florida, and Notre Dame. Of those schools, only the Longhorns have not yet extended an offer to the 6-3, 195-pound playmaker.
