Clemson vs. Wake Forest 2012: TV schedule, odds, preview and more

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons host the No. 18 Clemson Tigers on Thursday. Wake Forest snapped a two-game ACC losing streak with a win over Virginia, but contending with Clemson’s offense will be a bigger challenge.

The No. 18 Clemson Tigers go on the road in Week 9, facing the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Tigers are 6-1 and 3-1 in the ACC, while Wake has a 4-3 record and is 2-3 in-conference.

Clemson's offense has been their point of pride in 2012, averaging 40.9 points and 492.9 yards per game. Junior quarterback Tajh Boyd has thrown for nearly 2000 yards, and senior running back Andre Ellington has 693 yards and a 5.1 yards per carry average. The defense showed some promise in Week 8, holding the Virginia Tech Hokies to 17 points after three straight weeks of giving up more than 30.

Wake Forest is coming off a win over the Virginia Cavaliers where the defense forced three turnovers and held the Cavs to just 48 rushing yards on 32 carries. That was enough to help an offense that only gained 213 yards to a 16-10 victory. The Tigers' offense will have to be careful; they've given up seven interceptions and lost five fumbles so far in 2012.

Game time, TV channel: 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Point spread: Clemson favored by 12 points
