TCU vs. Texas 2012 previews: TV schedule, odds and more

Texas, still in contention for a possible BCS bid, hosts TCU on Thanksgiving in a game that replaces the annual Aggies-Longhorns showdown. Follow @SBNationCFB

Having righted their early season struggles, the Texas Longhorns are still alive for a Big 12 title and a BCS berth as they host the TCU Horned Frogs on Thanksgiving night in Austin.

Tons of TCU-Texas previews right here

The Longhorns are 61-20-1 all-time against the Horned Frogs, but the schools have only played once since the breakup of the Southwest Conference, a 34-13 Longhorns victory in 2007. TCU's last win in the series was in 1992. The two teams are headed in opposite directions: Texas has won four straight since dropping consecutive October contests to Oklahoma and West Virginia, holding its last three opponents to 22 points or fewer. The Horned Frogs have lost three of four, and have generally struggled since starting QB Casey Pachall left the team earlier in the season.

Texas can still force a three-way tie for the Big 12 title if it wins out, and Oklahoma loses one of its remaining two games. In that scenario, Kansas State would still earn the league’s automatic berth to the Fiesta Bowl, but the Longhorns would be in great shape for an at-large bid. TCU is bowl eligible at 6-4, but would certainly improve its destination with a win.

Game time, TV channel: 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Point spread: Texas favored by 7
