James Wilder, Jr. is once again in trouble with the law, as the Florida State running back was arrested Sunday after missing a court date.
James Wilder arrested again: FSU star missed court date
Running back James Wilder, Jr., who led Florida State with 11 rushing touchdowns in 2012, was arrested for the third time in less than a year after missing a court date for a suspended license hearing.
Wilder, a sophomore, turned himself in to police after failing to appear at a Dec. 20 arraignment for driving with a suspended license.
WIlder has now been arrested three times in the past year: first he was charged with resisting arrest, after allegedly bumping into an officer who was trying to arrest his girlfriend. That put him on probation, and caused him to miss all of Florida State’s spring practices. However, he violated his probation by failing a breath alcohol test in May, causing another arrest and earning him several days of jail time. He was stopped by a police officer in November for failing to stop his moped at a stop sign, which caused his suspended license to be discovered.
Wilder is the son of former NFL running back James Wilder, who played ten years in the league, mainly with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Wilder Jr. was a five-star recruit considered the No. 4 athlete in the nation by ESPN for his play at running back and linebacker. He was third in rushing yards for Florida State in 2012, but led the team with 11 touchdowns.
