Florida opened its 2013 season with relative easy, riding a controlling offense to a 24-6 win over Toledo. Quarterback Jeff Driskell completed 17 of 22 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown, while running back Mack Brown rushed 25 times for 112 yards and one touchdown.

Jeff Driskel was efficient as Florida dominated time of possession en route to an easy win.
Neither team scored in the fourth quarter, as the game was for the most part decided early on. After Toledo opened the third quarter with a 23-yard field goal, both teams traded possessions until Driskell found Gideon Ajagbe in the end zone on a four-yard toss.
Florida responded to a short Toledo drive with an 11-play, 84-yard drive that consumed first 6:21 and was capped by Brown's one-yard touchdown run. Early in the second, a 24-yard field goal by Gators kicker Austin Hardin put UF ahead, 10-0. Both teams swapped field goals to make the halftime score 17-3, Gators.
For Toledo, quarterback Terrance Owens went 17-of-38 for 155 yards and one interception. Florida controlled the time of possession, 39:48 to 20:12, effectively limiting Toledo's offensive output. The Gators outgained the Rockets, 415-205, though the higher time of possession did result in a 10-penalty day that costed them 70 yards.
