Update: X-rays on Russell’s head are negative, so that’s good. Still no word on whether it’s a concussion or something else.
Tyler Russell injury: Mississippi State QB leaves game after shot to head
The Mississippi State signalcaller left the game after taking a knee to the helmet.
Mississippi State quarterback Tyler Russell left the Bulldogs' game against Oklahoma State after taking a hit to the head, and his return is still uncertain. Russell took the hit as he was getting tackled, and it looks like an Oklahoma State player's knee banged into his helmet:
Russell was 10-16 for 133 yards and an interception before leaving the game. He was replaced by Dak Prescott, and the Bulldogs trail Oklahoma State 14-3 entering the fourth quarter, and even though they were hardly prolific with Russell leading the offense today, MSU probably doesn't have much of a chance to mount a comeback without him.
