Alabama vs. Virginia Tech 2013 video highlights: Tide roll on 3 Christian Jones touchdowns

Relive Alabama’s big opening win over Virginia Tech with GIFs and video.

No. 1 Alabama defeated Virginia Tech easily on Saturday, dispatching the Hokies 35-10 in their opening matchup of the season.

The star of the day was Christion Jones, who ensured the Tide never had the ball without the lead thanks to this punt return touchdown on Alabama's first touch of the game.

Jones had two more touchdowns on the day - one from a kick return and another on a reception. He became the first Alabama player in over 60 years to have two return touchdowns in one game, and as a result got his own highlight reel courtesy of the SEC:

Late in the first quarter, Virginia Tech already trailed 14-0, but a 77-yard Trey Edmunds touchdown run brought the Hokies within a score.

The run left the Alabama faithful bewildered at the sight of an opposing touchdown.

That would be the last time the Hokies were within a score of the Tide, as Vinnie Sunseri would next pick off a Logan Thomas pass, returning it for a touchdown. Jones followed that up with his second and third touchdowns of the day, resulting in a 35-10 Alabama victory.

For Virginia Tech, it was a whole lot of this.
