Stevan Ridley leads Patriots backfield with big fantasy performance
Stevan Ridley had 71 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries during the Patriots’ win over the Dolphins on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Ridley has had at least 13 carries in every game he has played this season. He has now gone five straight games with a rushing touchdown. He has nine rushing touchdowns on the season.
Fantasy Impact: Ridley appears to be the unquestioned starter in the Pats’ backfield. Vereen had been taking on a bigger role in recent weeks, but he was held to just three carries Sunday. Going forward, it’s easy to project Ridley as a solid RB2 in standard fantasy formats.
That said, the Pats have a tough slate in coming weeks. They host the Houston Texans in Week 14 before taking on the San Francisco 49ers. You may want to temper enthusiasm for Ridley as a fantasy owner.
