2011 Frys.com: Bryce Molder Wins Playoff, Championship
Bryce Molder has endured numerous top 10 finishes without a win on the PGA Tour, two blown 54-hole leads and a stretch of 10 missed cuts in 13 2011 events. He’s finally put all of that behind him.
Molder emerged from an epic six-hole playoff with a winning birdie on the last to beat third-round leader Briny Baird and win the Frys.com Open, his first win on the PGA Tour after an up-and-down career.

Tiger Woods shot a final round 68, capping a solid weekend that left him at 7-under for the tournament. But the early hole he dug himself with two lackluster rounds to open the tournament left him far too big a hole to climb out of, and Woods was hardly a factor in the tournament. As it stands now, Woods sits eight shots back of the lead, in a tie for 28th place.
Woods was up and down again on Sunday, bogeying No. 2 and No. 5 before carding a birdie on No. 9. On the back nine, he heated up, carding birdies on No. 10, 12, 14 and 15 before bogeying No. 16. He finished his round with a birdie on No. 17 and a par on No. 18, good for a round of 3-under.

It was an up-and-down day for Tiger Woods as he tried to make up ground at the Frys.com Open. After play was suspended for darkness on Friday -- forcing players to finish their rounds on Saturday morning -- the third round began on split tees, with Woods starting on the back nine. And he began with a bogey-free nine holes, getting to 2-under on the day and climbing the leaderboard early.
By the time Woods got to the third hole -- his 12th of the day -- he was at 4-under for the day and just three shots off the lead. But he couldn’t maintain his momentum, with a bogey on No. 3 bringing him back to earth and another on No. 7 turning what could’ve been a great day into merely a solid one.

The third round of the 2011 Frys.com Open gets underway Saturday. Paul Casey (11:50 a.m. tee time) heads into Saturday leading at 8-under after shooting seven under par Friday. Bud Cauley (11:50 a.m.), Ernie Els (4:30 p.m.) and Briny Baird (5:10 p.m.) sit one shot back at 7-under for the tournament.

After one round of play at the Frys.com Open, Briny Baird, Brendan Steele, Garrett Steele, and Matt Bettencourt lead the field at 4-under par. This tournament would be barely a blip on the radar screen if it weren’t for the return of noted golf enthusiast Tiger Woods, and he’s, well, pretty much doing what he’s been doing for years now — not much of anything. Woods is +2 and six strokes off the lead.
Woods hasn’t played since his disaster turn at the PGA Championship, and, as has been his buggaboo, he fell victim to an implosion hole. After a birdie to open his round, he bogeyed the next two holes, but was able to steady himself for eight straight pars before a double-bogey on 12 that pretty much sealed a bad round for him. He saved it a little with a birdie on 13, but finishing 2-under is, the new normal for the former world No. 1.
