Despite calls for him to disqualify himself following a rule violation on Friday, Tiger Woods did tee off in the third round of the Masters on Saturday and he’s playing well early.

After a rule violation cost him two strokes, Tiger Woods didn’t waste much time making up ground on Saturday
The first hole at Augusta National has been Woods’ worst hole on the course throughout his career, but it didn’t phase him on Saturday. Woods put his opening tee shot in the middle of the fairway and then drilled his approach shot to within a few feet of the pin. Woods has had some issues with his approach shots this week, but it was not a problem on No. 1 as he converted the short birdie putt.
Woods had another birdie opportunity at the par-5 second hole, but he missed a six-foot birdie putt and was forced to settle for par. Woods is yet to birdie No. 2 this week, and Saturday’s par is his third straight. After an excellent tee shot on No. 3, Woods had his third birdie opportunity of the day, but his 15-foot birdie put missed right. He tapped in for par and is 2-under overall through three holes.
