U.S. Open odds 2013: Phil Mickelson favored heading into Saturday

It’s been kind of a mess at the U.S. Open thus far, with bad weather and even worse play from much of the field. Billy Horschel and Phil Mickelson hold a first place tie at 1-under for the tournament, with five others sitting at even headed into Saturday.

Unpredictable play aside, there’s still plenty of room for odds-makers to get in on the action. As of Friday night, Mickelson is the favorite to take it all, according to Bovada. Mickelson sits at 9/2 odds to win the tournament headed into the third round. His co-leader, Horschel, comes in at 9/1 odds.

Above Horschel, though, are Tiger Woods, Luke Donald and Justin Rose. All three are sitting at 7/1 odds to win the tournament. Donald and Rose are both at even and tied for third place on the leaderboard after Friday’s action. Woods, on the other hand, is struggling at 3-over par, tied for 17th place with five others. He shot a 73 in the opening round and a 70 in Round 2.
