VIDEO: Chris Paul Head Injury Caused By Running Into Ramon Sessions’ Shoulder

Chris Paul suffered a scary head injury in tonight’s New Orleans Hornets game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Late in the third quarter, Paul lost control of the ball while driving into the paint. As he attempted to get the ball back, he butted his head into Ramon Sessions’ upper body, instantly sprawling to the floor:

The impact wasn’t all that severe, as Sessions barely seemed to notice, but clearly caught Paul in a very bad spot.

After remaining on the floor for several minutes, Paul was placed on a stretcher with a neck brace and carted off the floor. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he’s reportedly talking and showing movement and awareness. Even as he was being carted off he was able to extend a thumbs-up gesture to the crowd, and he reportedly tried to lift his head off the court before medical staff arrived.
