The Knicks used some more solid shooting and a zone defense to outscore the Grizzlies by six in the third period and extend their lead to 96-82. It isn’t just Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire hurting the Grizzlies now as Toney Douglas has 18 points and seven assists, Landry Fields has 14 points, and Roger Mason has 11 points off the bench.
Knicks Vs. Grizzlies Score: Amare Stoudemire, Knicks Lead Grizzlies 96-82 After Three
Tony Allen and Mike Conley are doing all they can to keep Memphis in the game with 22 and 16 points respectively. While Memphis is shooting over 50% from the field for the game, they haven’t been able to match New York’s 60% shooting. The Knicks are also 12-22 from three-point range while Memphis has attempted just five shots from beyond the arc.
Strange stat from this game, the Knicks lead despite taking just two free throw attempts through three quarters of play. The Grizzlies on the other hand are 23-25 from the charity stripe. You have to wonder if that kind of disparity can catch up with New York if they go cold from the field.
