No. 2 Auburn was down in the scoreboard early on Saturday, but thanks to quarterback Cam Newton’s arm and legs, the Tigers have scored two unanswered touchdowns to tie the game at halftime.
Auburn Vs. Georgia: Cam Newton Runs, Throws For TD To Tie Game At 21
Newton’s sole mistake through the air has been an interception. Apart from that, he’s 9-for-11, and those two incompletions were dropped passes. Newton, whose eligibility for today’s game was in doubt for a time, has also run for 90 yards on 15 carries. He has two touchdowns on the day, one rushing and one passing. The tying score was a perfectly accurate 18-yard bullet to tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen.
On the Georgia side of the ball, quarterback Aaron Murray was 7-for-12 with 137 yards passing in the first half. All three Bulldog touchdowns have been thrown by Murray.
