Harvey Updyke Is Attacked. There Is No Evidence. Draw Conclusions

Even going by what we know happened to Harvey Updyke this week, it has not been the best week for the alleged Auburn tree-poisoner. But Updyke says being indicted was just one of the down notes; he also says he was assaulted after the fateful court appearance. Auburn fans, for their part, have been somewhat skeptical of Updyke’s claims.

↵Now, apparently, so are the police.

↵↵“I don’t know how to say this without sounding nasty… but so far the whole thing is hypothetical,” he said. “There are no witnesses. No video. Absolutely nothing for us to pursue. We can’t prove that it didn’t take place. We can’t prove that it did take place. The investigation has no substance at all, in any direction.”

↵↵And the case gets a little bit weirder. All we need now is for the alleged assailant to call in to the Paul Finebaum show and confess to the attack.
