Boise State’s Brent Pease A Top OC Target For Alabama And Florida, According To Report

Boise State offensive coordinator Brent Pease is suddenly the talk of the SEC, according to a report.

The popular critique of SEC football could be somewhat muted in the coming years, if Friday's news is accurate. Both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators are pursuing high-flyin' Boise St. Broncos offensive coordinator Brent Pease for their vacant positions, according to Robbie Andreu. This all confirms an earlier report by our own Spencer Hall, of course.

Pease has coached with the Broncos since 2006, previously working at Baylor, Kentucky, Northern Arizona and in various pro leagues. He hails from Idaho, but played quarterback for the Houston Oilers before getting into coaching.

Boise State ranked No. 10 in total offense in 2011, though it’s hard to evaluate exactly what that means, since they pretty much always rank right around there. Kellen Moore’s senior season may have helped as well.

Those who watched the Texas Longhorns flounder in the first year of Boise State import Bryan Harsin's direction may not be too thrilled about all this, but these things take time.

Still, it’s an exciting report for the prospects of SEC football. Alabama’s skull-first attack ranked No. 30 this year, losing Jim McElwain to Colorado State, but Florida stumbled in at No. 105, with Charlie Weis heading west to Kansas.
