Tim Tebow has given NFL fans at Wembley Stadium in London something intriguing to keep them interested in American football.
NFL Week 8, Broncos Vs. 49ers: Tim Tebow TD Gives Broncos 7-3 Lead
Set up by a 71-yard strike from Kyle Orton to Brandon Lloyd, Tebow entered the game and rushed for a one-yard touchdown to give the Denver Broncos a 7-3 lead over the San Francisco 49ers mid-way through the third quarter.
Denver’s offense has begun to open up a bit in this one despite many errors, including sacks and penalties. Orton has completed 15 of 18 passes for 183 yards in this contest, spreading the ball effectively between Lloyd, Jabar Gaffney, Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter. The 71-yard strike to Lloyd keeps one of the NFL’s hottest QB-WR combinations at a lovely simmer.
The Broncos have been the much more efficient offense in this contest, despite 87 rushing yards from San Francisco’s Frank Gore already in this contest. Denver has defended San Francisco’s popgun passing attack admirably, with Niners quarterback Troy Smith completing just five of ten passes for a paltry 49 yards.
San Francisco takes over with just over eight minutes remaining in the third quarter looking to re-gain their lead.
