It’s not quite garbage time, but Kyle Orton finding Brandon Lloyd isn’t likely to change much about this Broncos-49ers game.
NFL Week 8, Broncos Vs. 49ers: Kyle Orton Finds Brandon Lloyd For Late Touchdown
Orton and Lloyd connected for a one-yard touchdown to narrow the 49ers’ lead to 24-16 late in the fourth quarter in London. It’s been another good day through the air for Orton, who has 342 passing yards, but part of that is thank to the Broncos’ defense being as porous as usual — conceding 21 fourth quarter points was rather inauspicious — and forcing Orton to air it out.
The Broncos got the ball back, though. Then they had a touchdown pass on a potential game-tying drive nullified by penalty, and saw Orton’s attempt to lead the Broncos to a comeback win at Wembley fizzle with an interception.
Oh, well. At least the Broncos will probably never have to worry about the NFL sending them to London as ambassadors for the game again.
