Apparently Tennessee Titans QB Vince Young has had a change of heart just a couple of days removed from a "verbal confrontation" with head coach Jeff Fisher following the Titans overtime loss to the Washington Redskins. ESPN reports that Young sent a text message to Fisher on Tuesday apologizing for what had happened and asked that for faith in him moving forward.
Vince Young Apologizes To Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher, According To Report
Young’s apology was clearly the best move on his end because there’s no other team in the NFL will that will pay him an $8.5 million salary on top of a $4.25 million roster bonus. Young needs the Titans more than the Titans need him and I think he’s realizing that.
Tensions have reportedly been high between the two since Fisher announced last week he was benching Young. The two had some sort of confrontation where Young reportedly indicated he wasn’t running out on the team but on Fisher. Owner Bud Adams publicly said the two sides will have to get along and the organization hasn’t given up on Young.
Young can’t do anything about the rest of the 2010 season as he’s been placed on injured reserve with a thumb injury. We’re sure we haven’t heard the last of the questions about Vince Young’s future in Tennessee.
