After winning via a fourth quarter comeback yet again last week, the Atlanta Falcons finally got a drama-free win, putting away the Carolina Panthers 31-10. Both running games banged out yardage in a game with sloppy field conditions — Falcons RB Michael Turner ran for 112 and three touchdowns, countered by Carolina’s Jonathan Stewart and Mike Goodson, who ran for 203.
NFL Week 14 Scores And Results: Falcons Beat Panthers In Non-Comeback, 31-10
Falcons WR Roddy White led all receivers, with 79 on eight catches. Atlanta’s defense recorded five sacks, two each by DT Jonathan Babineaux and DE Kroy Biermann.
After the Falcons built a 17-point halftime lead, the Panthers stuck to the run, with Stewart and Goodson peeling off long runs as Atlanta’s defense played it loose. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense.
The 11-2 Falcons continue to angle for home field advantage next week against the Seattle Seahawks. The 1-12 Panthers host the Andrew Luck Bowl against the Arizona Cardinals.
