NFL Week 14 Scores And Results: Patriots Thump Bears 36-7, Clinch Playoff Berth
In snowy, windy conditions at Soldier Field, the Patriots routed the Bears, 36-7.
Tom Brady was gave another typically superb performance, throwing for 369 yards and two touchdowns, while leading the Patriots to a 33-0 halftime lead. Deion Branch was his favorite target, catching eight passes for 151 yards and a touchdown.
The Bears were helpless against the Patriots offense -- one which has been better of late than the 2007 edition that New England rode to an unbeaten record -- and hapless when they tried to move the ball. Jay Cutler completed just 12 of 26 passes and threw two interceptions; Chicago tallied just 47 yards on the ground.
The Patriots move to 11-2 with the win, and became the first NFL team to clinch a berth in this year’s playoffs. Thanks to a Packers loss, the Bears stay atop the NFC North.
