Trailing 17-10 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth quarter, on-the-rocks Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb led his team on a 13-play, 75-yard drive, finding Santana Moss for a six-yard scoring toss late in regulation.
NFL Week 14 Scores And Results: Redskins Botch PAT Attempt, Hand Bucs 17-16 Win
Nice job, Donovan. You can’t blame him for what happened on the next play, either: Hunter Smith botched the extra point snap, and the Buccaneers held on for a 17-16 win that was critical to their playoff hopes.
Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman completed 15 of 25 passes for 266 yards, and found tight end Kellen Winslow for a pretty 41-yard catch-and-run that gave the Bucs their first lead of the game; they trailed 10-9 prior to the score, but after Freeman ran in a two-point conversion, Tampa owned a 17-10 lead.
The rest, as they say, will live on in Redskins infamy.
