More than a handful of casual observers were curious to see how the better-than-expected, division-leading St. Louis Rams would hold up on the road against the defending world champion New Orleans Saints. Their answer? Not well.
NFL Week 14 Scores And Results: Saints Dominate Rams, Improve To 10-3
Drew Brees threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns - two of which were caught by Marques Colston - and Malcolm Jenkins added a 96-yard interception return for a touchdown as the Saints blew the Rams out in the Superdome, 31-13.
After falling into a quick 14-0 hole, with both of Colston’s touchdowns coming in the first quarter, the Rams fought back to 14-6 and had the ball deep in Saints territory just prior to halftime, looking to capture some serious momentum. Sam Bradford’s pass, however, was intercepted by Jenkins and returned for a score, and the Rams never seriously threatened from that point forward.
The Saints improve to 10-3 on the season, one game out of first place in an NFC South division still headlined by the 11-2 Atlanta Falcons. The Rams, meanwhile, fall to 6-7 - which, thanks to tiebreakers, still gives them a division lead in the ugly, pitiful NFC West.
