Don't expect Aaron Rodgers to play on Sunday against the New England Patriots. The Green Bay Packers have released their injury report for Sunday against the Patriots and Rodgers is listed as doubtful, which means it's very unlikely he'll play. Head coach Mike McCarthy strongly indicated on a radio show Friday morning that Matt Flynn would be the starting quarterback but said in his meeting with reporters Friday afternoon that the door is still open for Rodgers to play.
Aaron Rodgers Concussion Has Him Doubtful For Packers Vs. Patriots
"I'm not confirming the starting QB at this point...The door is open for Aaron Rodgers to play in the game."
Rodgers suffered a concussion last week against the Detroit Lions -- his second of the season. He hasn't practiced all week so the early predictions were that he wouldn't play on Sunday and it appears those are likely correct. McCarthy probably wants to leave some doubt in the Patriots' minds so that they'll prepare for two quarterbacks.
Once Rodgers left last week’s game against the Lions, their offense was nearly non-existent as they lost, 7-3. Now they’ll be facing arguably the best team in the NFL right now in the Patriots without the best player on their team.
Expect the line in the Packers-Patriots game to heavily favor New England even though Rodgers still has a slight chance of playing.
