If you watched any Tuesday night’s Vikings-Eagles game, you likely were formally introduced to Joe Webb, a rookie quarterback out of UAB who was starting in place of the injured Brett Favre. And it may be the last you see of him in 2010. According to interim coach Leslie Frazier, if Favre is healthy he’ll start Minnesota’s Week 17 game at Detroit.
Brett Favre, Not Joe Webb, Will Start For Vikings If Healthy In Week 17
“If Brett can go, Brett will be our quarterback for sure, if he were able to pass the concussion test,” Frazier said. “So it wouldn’t be an issue for me or our team if Brett were able to go.”
Favre was unable to pass the concussions tests on Tuesday, which is why Webb got the start. In his second career start, Webb was 17-of-26 with 195 yards and a rushing touchdown. Not amazing numbers, but he didn’t have any turnovers while leading the Vikings to an impressive road win over the NFC’s No. 3 seed.
