The Philadelphia Eagles have nothing to play for next week against the Dallas Cowboys as they've locked up the No. 3 seed in the NFL playoffs and can't move up or down. QB Michael Vick wasn't expected to play the entire game for that reason and that he was dinged up in the Eagles Week 16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings is more reason to give him some rest.
Michael Vick Not Starting; Kevin Kolb Gets The Nod For Eagles Vs. Cowboys
With that in mind, the Eagles will start QB Kevin Kolb this weekend, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. This is the news many of us expected.
The lack of any meaning in this game and Vick being banged up makes this an easy decision. Andy Reid suggested earlier this week that even if this game meant something he’s not sure Vick would be able to play with a quad injury.
The Eagles didn’t practice on Wednesday but their estimated practice reports says Vick wouldn’t have practiced. Coming off the week from Tuesday’s game, Philly fans probably shouldn’t expect to see much, if any, of Michael Vick against the Cowboys.
