Rewind to Sept. 26. The Cincinnati Bengals were sitting at 2-1 and thinking they were going to be one of the teams challenging the Pittsburgh Steelers for the AFC North division crow. Since that point, the Bengals have come on to lose nine consecutive games and put them in the running for the top pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
NFL Picks Week 14: Cincinnati Bengals Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers on the other hand continue to roll. They're coming off a huge win over the Baltimore Ravens last week that put them in the driver's seat in the AFC North with four games to play. Pittsburgh still needs to win to lock up the division so they still have motivation in this game.
Unsurprisingly, the Steelers are huge home favorites, currently at nine points, according to NFL odds. There’s really no reason to think they won’t win this game, especially looking at their resume this season, which includes some impressive wins.
The Bengals, like most poor teams, throw the ball a lot because they’re playing from behind. That’s resulted in some impressive numbers for WR Terrell Owens, but it hasn’t helped the team win. I suspect we’ll see the same situation this time around with the Steelers building and the Bengals passing to come back.
I’m on board with the nine point line and think the Steelers could blow this thing up even more than that. The Bengals just seem in disarray right now and I’m not sure if they have anything to play for.
