With roughly eight minutes remaining in the second quarter, the New York Giants still lead the Washington Redskins by a score of 3-0 - and both teams are playing rather sloppy football.
Giants Vs. Redskins: Giants Still Lead, Teams Exchanging Turnovers
After Graham Gano missed a short field goal that could have tied the game, Eli Manning had a pass glance off the hands of receiver Mario Manningham - a tip which was promptly intercepted by Philip Buchanon. That pick set the Redskins up at New York’s 25-yard line, but Rex Grossman was sacked on the ensuing possession, and rookie defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul pounced on it for the Giants.
Both teams have been able to reel off large chunks of yardage in this contest, but mistakes are killing both teams, as well.
The Giants are in the NFL playoffs with a win and a loss by the Green Bay Packers. At the moment, the Packers - who are hosting the Chicago Bears in Week 17 - trail the Bears 3-0 in the second quarter. If both Green Bay and New York lose, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers slide into the NFL playoffs.
