The New York Giants have extended their lead over the Washington Redskins to 10-0 thanks to a two-yard touchdown plunge from running back Brandon Jacobs.
Giants Vs. Redskins: Brandon Jacobs TD Extends Giants Lead To 10-0
Eli Manning made several big plays on the Giants’ nine-play, 69-yard scoring drive, with a 16-yard completion to Danny Ware, a 12-yard pass to Derek Hagan on 3rd-and-11, another 15-yard pass to Hagan on 3rd-and-9, and a 24-yard pass to Kevin Boss down the seam. That last throw set the ball up at Washington’s two-yard line, and Jacobs plowed in for the score on the next play.
The Giants are in the NFL playoffs with a win and a Green Bay Packers loss. They’re taking care of their own business for the time being, while the Packers currently trail the Chicago Bears 3-0 at Lambeau Field. Should both teams lose, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would sneak into the playoffs as the NFC’s sixth seed.
Manning has completed 12-of-17 passes for 127 yards, with one interception. Jacobs is having a strong outing, with 41 rushing yards and the touchdown on eight carries. New York’s defense is also playing well, having already forced one Rex Grossman turnover on the day.
