Ben Roethlisberger Injury Update: Foot Injury Adds To 2011 Struggles

The Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten off to a rough start in 2011, currently sitting at 2-2 after a tough loss to the Houston Texans. The Steelers woes may be growing as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a foot injury that knocked him out of the game briefly during the fourth quarter. He had x-rays on the foot but there is no word if it is broken. Roethlisberger dealt with a foot injury 2010, although that one was his right foot and this injury is his left foot.

Roethlisberger was in a walking boot following the game and I would suspect we'll get an update sometime on Monday following any further examination. The Steelers season as a whole has been fairly miserable and Roethlisberger has been very up and down. He put together huge passing numbers against the Indianapolis Colts but could not find the end zone. This followed an embarrassing three interception season opener and a solid, if unspectacular performance against the Seahawks in week two.

For now Big Ben is not a guy you really want to be relying on for your fantasy team. I’d suspect until he gets things figured out there are some decent options on your waiver wire if you don’t already have a backup.
