It's never a positive to have your quarterback go down with a sprained foot but when the alternative is a fractured foot it's not so bad. That's what Ben Roethlisberger is going through as a Monday MRI showed no fracture, but a sprained left foot, for Roethlisberger, who was injured in Sunday's loss to the Houston Texans.
Ben Roethlisberger’s Injury Is Sprained Foot, According To Report
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has the details:
A scan performed Monday on Roethlisberger’s left foot was negative for a fracture, the sources said. An MRI on Sunday had indicated a possible fracture but the test was inconclusive because of swelling in the foot.
No word on how much time, if any, he’ll miss as a result of the sprained foot.
The good news is that Roethlisberger has a history of fighting through injuries like, particularly last year when he played with a foot injury.
“If I can do it and if I have to cast it up -- we saw I had to do that last year. I casted up my foot for the last half of the year. If we have to do it, I’ll do it.”
We'll know more on Wednesday when the Steelers practice report comes out. For now, Roethlisberger is in a walking boot.
