The veteran tight end has battled knee injuries throughout his career, but has not missed any of the Buccaneers’ seven games this season and is tied for the team lead with 31 receptions and ranks second behind second-year wide receiver Mike Williams in targets (58) and receiving yards (282) with one touchdown.

Blount has missed the Buccaneers’ last two games with a knee injury, but was able to practice fully during practice and is expected to carry the load on Sunday, including on third downs, Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times reports.
“Oh yeah, I know I’m going to play third downs in this game,” Blount said. “I’m probably not going to play all of them, but I know I’m going to play quite a few of them. I’ve shown that I know the protections and I know the routes and everything and I can catch the ball, so that’s going to help us out tremendously. It’s going to let me stay in the game a little bit longer and play a lot more snaps, so I’m excited.”

The Saints traded back into the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft to select the former Heisman Trophy winner who currently leads the club with 85 carries for 329 yards with three touchdowns on the ground.
