NFL trade rumors involving Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton are starting to pick. The Broncos are willing to trade Orton and there are a number of teams interested. According to Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel, the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks are among the team's bidding on him.
Kyle Orton Trade Rumors: Dolphins, Others Eyeing Broncos QB
Apparently, the trade won’t be the hard part -- it’ll be a new contract. Orton is due $9 million 2011 but wants a long-term deal that will pay him over $6 million per year.
Orton also wants to go to a team where he'll be the clear-cut starter and not a stop-gap.The Vikings already have QB Christian Ponder so I'd think he'd be considered a stop-gap there. Many people expect the Cardinals to eventually acquire QB Kevin Kolb so Orton could be plan B there. The Seahawks reportedly acquired QB Tarvaris Jackson but it's not clear if he'll be the starter.
That leaves the Dolphins who, according to the Sun-Sentinel, have Orton atop their quarterback wish list right now. Kelly writes the Dolphins “appear” to be the front-runner for Orton right now.
Stay tuned. Orton could soon be on the move.
