Saints Vs. Raiders Final Score: Drew Brees, Chase Daniel Lead New Orleans To 40-20 Victory Over Oakland

The New Orleans Saints are ready for the regular season if we are to believe in their performance on Sunday night against the Oakland Raiders. The Saints picked up a 40-20 victory to improve to 2-1 this preseason. The Raiders are now 0-3.

The Saints went 3-for-3 to start its offense. Drew Brees directed two 80-yard drives that resulted in Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas punching the ball in from the one-yard line. They had to settle for a 33-yard Garrett Hartley field goal after Stanford Routt had excellent coverage on Marques Colston during that drive.

Chase Daniel entered the game for the Saints on their fourth drive and didn't score that time, but he came back in the second half with two touchdown passes. His second one was a 39-yard pass to Adrian Arrington just one play after the Raiders turned the ball over on a lost fumble. Running back Joique Bell had an impressive showing against the backups with 92 yards receiving and 50 yards on the ground.

For the Raiders, Jason Campbell went 12-of-17 for 150 yards and a 35-yard touchdown pass to Derek Hagan. Hagan caught six passes for 121 yards. Rookie Taiwan Jones demonstrated that he belongs on the roster with 81 rushing yards on 13 carries. He had an impressive run after the catch that might have led to a touchdown, but an offensive pass interference call end a potential five-yard touchdown play.

The Saints host the Tennessee Titans to end the preseason while the Raiders visit the Seattle Seahawks.
