Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints Look Sharp Dominating Oakland Raiders

The New Orleans Saints are ready for the 2011 season to start -- at least they look like they are. The Saints dominated the Oakland Raiders on Sunday night, 40-20, and they looked good doing it. QB Drew Brees was in three series and the Saints scored on all three series.

The first drive was an 11-play, 80-yard scoring drive that took just over four minutes. That drive resulted in RB Mark Ingram punching it in from one yard out. The second drive was also an 11-play, 80-yard drive that took a little over four minutes resulting in a one-yard RB Pierre Thomas touchdown run. The final Brees-led drive went 63 yards over 13 plays and ended in a K Garrett Hartley field goal.

We know the Saints offense is very, very good. They’ve added Ingram to the mix which bolsters the running game and the rest of the offense should be relatively continuous. Brees lead the Saints through offseason workouts longer and more often than any other team so keep an eye on their offense early in the season to see how much that helped. Judging by the performance in Oakland, that was time well spent in the offseason.

The Saints move to 2-1 on the preseason while the Raiders lose their third straight.
