Despite winning their Week 1 matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars aren't getting a lot of respect on the betting line. They opened up as 10-point underdogs to the New York Jets and the line has held pretty steady, still hovering around 9 to 10 points on most outlets.
NFL Odds Week 2: Jaguars Vs. Jets
That said, the Jaguars could make for a pretty good value bet. The Jets are coming off a highly emotional win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 where they got a late field goal on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. If a team was ever primed for an emotional let down in Week 2, this would be it.
That said, it's not hard to see why the Jets have been pegged as big favorites. For this game to hit the over (currently at 39) that will almost certainly mean another strong performance from Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. He was stellar in the opening week, tossing two touchdowns and throwing for 335 yards, while getting almost nothing from the running game.
The Jaguars will almost certainly be reliant upon the legs of Maurice Jones-Drew, who rushed for 97 yards in Week 1. This much we do know: If they are relying upon the arm of Luke McCown, the under is looking mighty tasty.
