NFL odds and lines for all Week 6 games

If the scores prediction computer is correct, this game will not be the tight, defensive battle many believe it will be.

It’s a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game, as the San Francisco 49ers host the New York Giants in Week 6 NFL betting action. San Francisco was a 6.5-point favorite as of Friday at most shops tracked by OddsShark.com.

The trends point to the Chargers and the score predictions point to the Chargers.

But the Monday Night Football odds situation is muddied by the fact oddsmakers are giving lots of respect to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

The Arizona Cardinals will be looking for their ninth straight victory at home this Sunday when they host the Buffalo Bills at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Surprisingly, Arizona is just a 4.5-point favorite at most online shops as of Friday.

Brian Cushing is not the best-known player on the Houston Texans, but he might be the most important.

Griffin III left the game with a mild concussion in Washington’s loss to Atlanta last week, and while he has been practicing this week and hasn’t suffered any setbacks he will still need to be cleared by doctors due to NFL rules on concussion safety. The loss to Atlanta last week brought Washington’s record to 2-3 SU and ATS.

After winning just three games in 2011, the Minnesota Vikings have already surpassed that total with a 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS start. Minnesota is getting the job done in good old smash-mouth football fashion, rushing for 133.2 yards per game and playing excellent defense (allowing 15.8 points per game).

The Atlanta Falcons are determined to remain undefeated heading into their bye week in Week 7 and they are double-digit favorites in WEek 6 against a team that never covers coming off a bye week.

Atlanta hosts the Oakland Raiders this Sunday at the Georgia Dome, laying 10 points at most shops and most of the Week 6 betting trends point to the Falcons in this one.

The New York Jets are favored to break a two-game home losing streak in Week 6 against a team in a perfect handicapping letdown hole.

The Jets host the Indianapolis Colts, fresh off an emotional upset of the Green Bay Packers, at Metlife Stadium. New York was an early 3-point favorite on NFL lines at sportsbooks such as Bovada, but the number was being bet higher.

Philadelphia opened as a 5.5-point favorite, but it had been bet down to -4 by Thursday.

“Many are backing the Lions here, but they are just 1-6 ATS in their past six games as an underdog and they typically struggle coming off a bye week,” said Jeff Grant of SportsbookReview.com.

Both the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens will be looking to break three-game ATS losing streaks when they meet at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore this Sunday.

Baltimore is a 3.5-point favorite at most online sportsbooks and they own a 4-0 SU and ATS streak against Dallas. But Dallas is coming off a bye week, a situation where they have dominated against the spread (11-3 ATS past 14 seasons).

The game is scheduled for Monday night at 8:30 p.m., ET and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Greg Schiano’s club was in it until the end in all three of those games against NFC East foes, but it could never could hold on for the win. Now out of the NFC East play, the Bucs will be slight home favorites against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs. The Bucs are 4-point favorites in most places, with the over/under set at 40 points.

Cassel is questionable for Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET game at Raymond James Stadium.

The game is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., ET and will be broadcast on Fox.

The line is likely to move throughout the week, possibly with a bigger spread predicted in favor of the Texans. As it stands, the over/under for the game is set at 48 across the board, though given the way Houston’s defense has played this season, the under might be the smart bet in this one.

This will be the final meeting between the two teams this season as the Bengals won the first game 34-27 in Week 2.

The Eagles will enter the contest looking for their seventh straight victory over the Lions. To accomplish that feat, Philadelphia will need its 31st-ranked offense, which is averaging 16 points per game, to improve. The Eagles’ offensive struggles could favor betters who want to bet the over/under, which is 48 points.

Buffalo is 0-3 against the spread as an underdog this season, losing each of those games by 20 points or more, according to Odds Shark.

The Steelers will enter the contest looking for their first road win of the season. To do so, it will need to find a way to exploit the Titans defense which has allowed at least 30 points in all five of its games this season. Those stats could favor the over/under line of 44 points.

Part of the respect for the Seahawks has to come from their distinct homefield advantage due to having possibly the loudest stadium in the league, as well as a dominant defense that has kept a subpar offense in virtually every game this season.

The over/under is 44 points and that might be pushing it due to the Seahawks lack of offensive firepower. The Seahawks have only scored 21 points or more once all season and that was in Week 2. But their defense is ranked in the top five in both passing yards allowed and rushing yards allowed so they’ve been in every game except one.

The odds makers also expect plenty of points in the game, as the over/under for the game is set at 48, higher than any other game in Week 6. However, even with Atlanta’s high-octane offense, the under has been the winning pick in four of their last six games and six of their last nine home games.

The total opened at 45, and has stayed pretty close to there, with some sites lowering it to 44 1/2. Both teams have shown potent offenses recently, with the 49ers averaging 29.8 points per game and the Giants at 30.4. New York has been giving up far more points, at 22.2, compared to 13.6 for San Francisco.

The Giants are 2-3 against the spread this season, and 1-1 ATS on the road. The 49ers have covered the spread in all four of their wins, with the only time they failed to cover coming in their loss at Minnesota. Though not overwhelmingly impressive against the Chiefs, the Ravens still sit at 4-1 and are frequently mentioned among the best teams in the league, making the relatively low home line against the 2-2 Cowboys somewhat surprising.

Both the Cowboys and Ravens are 0-3 against the spread in the last three weeks.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will once again be without Troy Polamalu Thursday night when they visit the Tennessee Titans and they are a risky bet as 5.5-point road favorites.

Pitt has been a disaster against the spread on the road in recent years, going 2-10 ATS in 12 recent games. But Tennessee has been ugly as well, getting crushed a week ago and riding a 1-5 ATS mark in six recent home games, according to the Week 6 NFL trends at OddsShark.com.
