Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew should be running at full speed at practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Mike Mularkey. Jones-Drew has been out since injuring his foot back in Week 7 against the Oakland Raiders.
Maurice Jones-Drew injury: MJD will run at full speed on Wednesday
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew will run at full speed in Wednesday’s practice, but how effective will he be?
Prior to the injury, Jones-Drew had run for 414 yards and a touchdown, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. He also caught 14 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. His best game of the year came against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3 where he ran for 177 yards on 28 carries and scored a touchdown.
Even though Jones-Drew has been able to increase his workload, Mularkey does think that he may not be able to run at the level that the Jaguars need him to run at:
“I’d be very surprised if he can run like we want him to run.”
The Jaguars now are preparing for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. The game will take place at EverBank Field in Jacksonville and is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The television coverage will be provided by CBS.
