Richard Sherman returns blocked punt for 90-yard touchdown
The Seahawks extended a lead over the 49ers with a big special teams play.
Red Bryant jumped skyward like Dr. J to block a David Akers field goal in the second quarter. The ball bounced out the left side, Seattle's left side, of the formation. Richard Sherman, fresh from appealing his PED suspension on Friday, scooped up the ball and ran it 90 yards for a touchdown, Seattle's third touchdown of the game.
Pete Carroll sure was happy about it.
A Seattle win clinches a playoff spot for the Seahawks. If the 49ers can stage a comeback, a win would give them the NFC West title. The 49ers currently lead the NFC West, trailed by Seattle and having an advantage thanks to a Week 10 tie.
