RGIII injury update: Redskins QB has knee strain, wearing a brace
The electric rookie strained his right knee in Sunday’s overtime win over the Ravens
Robert Griffin III has been lighting the world on fire with his play lately - but all of that suddenly screeched to a halt at FedEx field on Sunday.
The second overall pick sprained his right knee in a 31-28 overtime win over the Ravens, hurting his knee on a scramble during what would turn out to be the game-tying drive in the fourth quarter.
Griffin tried to hobble his way through a few more plays, but was forced to wait on the sideline in a knee brace during the final seconds of the fourth quarter and overtime before Kai Forbath's game-winning kick flew through the uprights.
Griffin's injury came on a play when he scrambled up the field and fell to his left, flipping his leg into the air and exposing his knee to a hit from a falling Haloti Ngata.
Here’s a GIF of the hit:
With the win, Washington is now 7-6 and in the thick of the NFC East and Wild Card races - but how far they can go without RG3 and his electric arm and feet is definitely in doubt.
