The Falcons stopped an alarming losing streak, and at home too, by knocking off the winless Bucs.
Martin likely out for season

Al MesserschmidtTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin is likely out for the season with a torn labrum in his shoulder, according to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports.
Martin was injured Sunday in Tampa Bay’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons when he fell awkwardly on his shoulder in the end zone. Martin had an MRI on Monday morning which has apparently revealed the worse case scenario for Martin and the Buccaneers, who are still searching for their first win this season under embattled coach Greg Schiano.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY SportsThe second-year running back left Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons when he was hit in the end zone and fell hard on his elbow. That put pressure on his shoulder, and Martin was forced out of the game. He did not return.
Starting Martin before he’s fully healed could be a dangerous move on short rest because of how instrumental he is to the future success of the team, but it might be a necessity given the desperation the 0-6 Buccaneers find themselves in.

That was good enough for the Falcons to hold on as the Bucs drop to 0-7 on the season.
Harry Douglas was a big waiver pickup this week and did not disappoint, grabbing seven catches for 149 yards and a touchdown. On the other side, Vincent Jackson had a monster performance with 10 catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY SportsAt halftime, Douglas is shredding the Buccaneers’ defense, recording six catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. His big first half was highlighted by a 37-yard score, in which he broke wide open and made an easy catch from Matt Ryan.
Douglas has spent several years serving as Atlanta’s No. 3 receiver behind Jones and White, and has never had a real chance to step up until this week. He may not continue this torrid pace with the Falcons nursing a 24-10 lead, but they are sure to be pleased with his efforts on Sunday.
