Kaepernick had run for just 63 yards in his last four games combined, but seems well on his way to surpassing that total in Week 7 alone with more than a quarter left to go. It might just depend on how much head coach Jim Harbaugh wants to put his franchise quarterback in jeopardy as San Francisco is up by more than three touchdowns on the road.

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY SportsThe 49ers’ defense has also forced 13 turnovers on the season, and the unit’s pass- and run-stopping capabilities both best the Titans on a per-attempt basis. The 49ers’ paltry plus-2 turnover differential highlights how poorly the offense has taken care of the ball, however. Kaepernick has thrown five interceptions and lost four fumbles. Schwenke, who came out of the University of California as one of the more highly regarded centers in his draft class, now gets his chance.
Before getting hurt with a hamstring injury that has kept him Schwenke inactive the first six games of the year, the youngster was playing well in the preseason. Head coach Mike Munchak believes Schwenke will thrive with this opportunity, per the article:
