NFLPA files grievance on behalf of Aaron Hernandez
The NFLPA is seeking the guaranteed money owed to Aaron Hernandez from the Patriots.
The NFLPA was forced to act on Hernandez behalf due to his contract, per Frank. The two base salaries were guaranteed even if Hernandez was cut. Since the former Patriot was released, the team has failed to pay him the money that he was assured in his contract. Hernandez is currently in jail in Connecticut and was indicted by a grand jury for the murder of Odin Lloyd in August.
The Patriots released him from his contract in June. He pleaded not guilty in September to the murder charges and is being held without bail. He is also being sued for his alleged involvement in shooting at a Miami strip club.
