The Indianapolis Colts could be without their top receiver for the remainder of Sunday’s game.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne left Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos with a knee injury, and will not return.

Wayne planted his foot on a routine route and reached back across his body to catch a wide pass, causing his knee to twist. He remained on the field for a short period of time before walking off with the assistance of the Colts’ training staff:

The injury came on a night where Indianapolis was honoring former Colts-greats as Peyton Manning returned for the first time since becoming a member of the Denver Broncos. Wayne was very much a part of his success while in Indianapolis, playing an instrumental role in the team's Super Bowl win in 2006.

The Colts will turn to Darrius Heyward-Bey and T.Y. Hilton to fill the void left by Wayne, but the team lacks a veteran receiver presence on offense him out.
