Champ Bailey injury: Broncos CB could miss time with ailing foot

The future Hall of Famer is having all sorts of problems with a balky left foot, perhaps putting him on the shelf again.

Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey had to leave the game on Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts after re-injuring his left foot, according to the Denver Post.

Bailey missed the first five games of the season and was limited in the sixth with a left foot issue that has bothered him since the preseason and cropped up once again in the second quarter versus Indianapolis as he attempted to make a tackle.

With Bailey out of the lineup, the Broncos went with a starting corner duo of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Keyvon Webster. Ultimately, neither did much to stop Andrew Luck and the Colts who racked up 39 points in handing Denver its first defeat of the season.

With the severity of the injury still unknown, it is tough to say whether Bailey will be out for next weeks contest against the Washington Redskins. However, should the Broncos hold him out, Bailey would have two weeks before their next game with a bye coming up.
