The Giants scored 10 points in the fourth quarter for a 24-17 win in Washington. For RGIII and Co., the frustration continues.
NFL admits mistakes in Redskins-Giants game

Brian BahrA sideline snafu that resulted in a first down suddenly changing to fourth down was admitted as a mistake by NFL’s Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino on Monday. In a statement, Blandino said that a head linesman incorrectly motioned for a first down.
The full statement reads as follows (via Albert Breer of NFL.com):

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY SportsWait, hold on a second. A play before Griffin threw downfield, he completed a pass that appeared to go for a first down. That’s what the linesman told Shanahan when he asked for a measurement. Head official Jeff Triplette was trying to communicate the fact that it was third down.
But it was too late.

Rob CarrIt was in the spotlight, though nobody quite knew why. On many levels, it was a disappointing display of football. And by the end, most people didn’t care about the final result. They just wanted it to be over.
In typical NFC East fashion, things got sloppy in the second half. Manning threw an interception, but it wasn’t the turnovers that made this one tough to watch. Both teams just struggled to move the football and lacked any sort of urgency in the second half.

David Richard-US PRESSWIREWhatever Jeff Triplette lacks in officiating skills, he makes up for it with wacky hijinks. Whether he’s throwing flags in someone’s eye or inappropriately touching third-string quarterbacks, you never know what you’re going to get. And we have no idea what exactly Triplette was trying to explain on this call during the first half of Sunday night’s game, but at least it was entertaining to watch him try.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsThe line opened up with the Redskins as 1.5-point favorites, but they’re now considered the underdogs in most books.
The over/under is set at 45.5 points. The score total has gone under in 12 of New York’s last 15 road games and under in five of its last six games when playing the Redskins. For Washington, the total has gone over in four of its last six games and under in four of its last six home games against the Giants. Given the unpredictable nature of this division rivalry, the over/under is a dicey bet this week.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY SportsThat would seem hard to believe.
Last season these two teams split their season series, with each winning at home. Both games were close, with neither team winning by more than four points, but they both seem awfully different at the moment. The Redskins won their last seven games last season to take the NFC East and the Giants lost five of their final eight games to relinquish the division crown to Washington, but they are now again headed in opposite directions.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY SportsThe oddsmakers don’t know who to favor in this one, as the line is EVEN, according to Oddsshark.com. Considering the game is in Washington, they are really saying on a neutral field that New York is approximately a field goal better.
