The New England Patriots have signed wide receiver Donald Jones to a 3-year contract, according to Albert Breer.

New England bolstered its receiving core Friday morning by signing ex-Bill Donald Jones.
Jones comes from the Buffalo Bills, where he played the first three seasons of his career. Jones will slide in as New England's No. 2 receiver, starting opposite Brandon Lloyd and taking the spot of an ancient Deion Branch.

Coming out of a small school in Youngstown State, Jones has improved in each of his three campaigns. Jones, 25, has seen his receptions and yardage totals increase every year. In 2012, Jones caught 41 passes for 443 yards and scored a career-high four touchdowns.
Considering Jones will have Tom Brady throwing him the football instead of Ryan Fitzpatrick, one would have to imagine Jones' numbers will continue to trend up.
In the Patriots offense, Jones won't be one of the main targets, but will still factor in. The wideout figures to be behind tight ends Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski and receivers Lloyd and Danny Amendola in the pecking order on most plays when Brady drops back to throw.
